Dumb Question & People Who Assume X And Thus Don't Try Y

There are some things that cannot be improved upon with words. All I'm going to say is that this question is found in my College-Level Biology 101 Lab Manual. Saying anything else will lessen the impact of the statement shown below: *sobs quietly for mankind*

*sigh* On to the next topic, which is where People assume "X" will happen, and thus won't try "Y".
Example: After complaining for an hour about a confrontation this person had with a woman, I try to get to the bottom of it, trying to understand who was the person at fault here.
Finally, I'm getting to the core of the issue, when the person says, "Oh, she wouldn't believe me anyways if I said that, so I didn't waste my time."
FEJ8024FIJFDSANFDSA YOU DON'T GET TO COMPLAIN ABOUT SOMEONE ELSE'S STUPIDITY UNTIL YOU'VE GOTTEN TO THE POINT WHERE YOU CAN COMPLAIN ABOUT IT! Good LORD! Don't people understand the concept of "getting to the bottom of it"?!
Later, I intervened (them willingly) and easily got to the core of the issue, and EASILY AND COMPLETELY SOLVED their little bout. People don't listen to each other anymore, and just criminalize/demonize the other party, because to THEM, the other party "must be insane" to think the way they're thinking, when in fact, that's EXACTLY WHAT THE OTHER PARTY THINKS OF YOU!
The vast majority of us want better for each other and ourselves, so if you just go around criminalizing everyone who disagrees with you, you're an idiot. LEARN TO LEARN, LISTEN TO WHAT THEY SAY, AND TRY TO LOGICALLY COME TO A CONCLUSION. IF YOU CANNOT COME TO A CONCLUSION, AT LEAST FIND OUT WHERE YOU DIFFER IN YOUR BELIEFS. FIND THE CORE. ONLY THEN WILL YOU BE ABLE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THEM TO YOUR FRIENDS.
