Mickey D's & Vista

McDonald's gave me another incorrect order today.

If you can't see, they gave me Medium fries as opposed to extra large
as well as only one cinna-melt as opposed to two (I was ordering for
my brother and I).

Yeah, it's not as bad as last time, but whenever Mickey D's is going to screw up my order, it's going straight up on Gross Incompetence.

Overall Incompetence Rating:

Alright, now on to the REAL star of tonight's show:
Up until about a half-year ago (the first time I bought a Vista machine), I was a die-hard Windows fan. It's the operating system I grew up on, playing Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, as well as Day of the Tentacle, and many many others. Up until I bought a new desktop computer for ~$300 off facebook marketplace so I could actually run games such as Portal (oh yeah!) and Team Fortress II (heck yes!), I thought Windows would be what I'd continue using until I was old and cranky, yelling at kids to "Stop jet-packing in my yard! You're ruining the lawn!"
Alas, it was not so.
The Desktop PC I bought came with Vista. It really was my first time dealing with the Operating system, but what's good was I got to experience it all the way through from the very beginning of installation.
This is where it began.

I kid you not, while Vista was installing for the first time, I saw an XP-themed window pop up, and a moment later, all the window graphics (i.e. X-out button, minimize, the border, etc) quickly change over to the Vista theme. At first, I never thought that much of it, but now, I can't help but think that Vista is just XP in a pretty dress. Now, this alone wouldn't be so bad. At least for me. For those of you who bought Vista itself for lots of $$$ would probably be pissed beyond belief if this were so--but thankfully, I was looking to buy a computer, not just an operating system.

No, it's not the fact that Vista *might* just be XP in a pretty dress that gets me angry. It's the fact that it's SLOWER THAN XP because of the cute dress, no matter whether or not it's a completely different OS under there or not. The bubbly design of Vista slows it down IMMENSELY. By that I mean it's about 3x as slow as Vista, as well as freezing up for about half a minute ALL THE TIME. ESPECIALLY when it's just starting up. I HATE having to restart Vista, since it's so utterly annoying to have to sit there for five+ minutes AFTER I log in to actually click on anything. It's also one of the main reasons I hate having my internet go out so often with this piece of crap.
Just take a look at this:

Good LORD, the third-most visited site I have is "Error: Host Not Accessible" (the website is "google.com", i.e. it's me trying to see if the internet is working. Surprise! It's not.)
That's another main thing about this crappy OS. The internet, as I've stated in an earlier post. IS HORRIFIC ON THIS MACHINE. I can pretty much safely assume that it's the OS, and not the hardware, too, since whenever I reboot, the problem instantly goes away (as long as it's a problem with my computer). UGH

I swear, as soon as I finish uploading this today, that's it. I'm downloading Kubuntu onto at least PART of my HDD to use as my primary OS as of right now.
