Don't worry, fellow readers--because finally, I finished downloading and installing Kubuntu. And here it is, in all its glory:

Now on to more important matters, i.e. Pokemon Diamond & Pearl.
Of course, I love the pokemon game series. (By the way, I'm not going to put the little ` over the e every time I say pokemon, because I don't have that key on my keyboard, and doing an alt-4729 or whatever for each pokemon word I say is too much work, imo.)
However, even though I love pokemon, I still have to say that there are some things about the 4th generation that could have been done a lot better. Of course, it has its strong points, and of course it's MUCH better than the 3rd generation (hooo boy, wait till I write a post on THAT one) and most likely those good things about Diamond/Pearl outweigh any of the bad parts of it should you still be deciding to buy it (DO IT)--however, I think these problems need to be addressed and thus fixed in future Pokemon versions.
And, without further ado, here they are:
Sometimes, when in a match, it says "Player won the fight!" or "Player sent out Blastoise!" or something annoying like that. Come on, how hard is it to write something along the lines of:
-------------
output player_name + " won the fight!";
-------------
as opposed to something along the lines of:
-------------
output "Player won the fight!";
-------------
?? I mean seriously, what is it, five more characters?

When in a double battle, sometimes one of the sprites of the opponent appear behind other sprite when it SHOULD be in front of it (example: Mightyena, while to the right of Dusclops, has its head hiding behind/buried in Dusclops' behind when they're on the opponent side of a two vs two battle.)
That seems easy enough to fix, doesn't it? COME ON.

-BATTLE ANIMATIONS TAKE TOO LONG and most don't look good enough to excuse the time taken to animate the attacks. Most people will want to turn off the attack animations just to save time.

-Health bars don't show correct 50% and 33% points (if you use one attack, and it goes down from 100% and into the top part of the yellow zone ("<50%"),>still have ~2hp left.)

-Animations for "______'s Attack rose!" or "________'s Defense fell!" aren't consistent--sometimes Blue is attack, sometimes it's defense, etc.

-NO RANDOM WiFi BATTLES! I MEAN, MARIO KART had that!

-Broken system that allows EV/IV training completely different to how the game (makers) want you to play the game--as in "FIGHT THIS lvl 13 GASTLY 1338 TIMES AND YOU'LL GROW A LEVEL, AND ALL THE POINTS WILL BE FOR ATTACK! etc.

-no 3D sprites. this is OK, but we're almost getting to the point where this is a legitimate grievance.

(will be four next version)
-Ditto copying system not intigrated well--if ditto copies a pokemon, it'll take on its full body, its full colors, as well as its cry (and if I remember correctly, it'll even start saying "Enemy BLASTOISE fainted!" as opposed to "Enemy DITTO fainted!" not sure about this one though. Could be my mind tainted from the days of pokemon red and blue, where rumors flew around saying "get mew, and make sure to catch it before it turns back into ditto!"

Well, that's it for D&P. There's the third version coming out as well, called Pokemon Platinum, if I'm not mistaken. I'm looking forward to the almost inevitable remakes of Gold and Silver. THOSE will be awesome, and I just can't WAIT for them!
Until next time,
Nickmeister

GIVE PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE of the incorrect spacial alignments!
Alright, I will. =)
(I'm assuming you're talking about where I said "Mightyena, while to the right of Dusclops, has its head hiding behind/buried in Dusclops' behind...")
